Chimpanzees

Chimpanzees are highly intelligent primates native to the forests and savannas of central and West Africa. They share about 98% of their DNA with humans, making them our closest living relatives. Chimpanzees live in social groups, often led by a dominant male, and are known for their complex communication skills, including vocalizations, facial expressions, and gestures. They are omnivorous, feeding on fruits, leaves, insects, and occasionally hunting smaller animals. Tool use is common among chimpanzees, showcasing their cognitive abilities. Sadly, they are endangered due to habitat loss, poaching, and disease, and are now the focus of intense conservation efforts.
